Warwick Freeman | Sentence |

In the exhibition ‘Sentence’, Warwick Freeman, winner of the Françoise van den Bosch award 2002, will be showing brooches made during the1990-2003 period. Each brooch has its own title referring to its shape or material. Warwick has grouped them into a linear sequence so that they form, as it were, words or a sentence. At the same time rhythm and an interaction of meanings are created. Meanings that are differently ‘read’ and interpreted by every viewer. It is an exhibition and presentation concept that Warwick has used previously for his work and emphasises our subjective manner of looking. The same kind of subjectivity as when the brooches are worn individually and form symbols on the body. Paul Derrez back |
