Georg Dobler | Onbetrouwbare Verhalen/Unreliable Stories

Georg Dobler's jewellery pieces tell a story. Nothing specific, however. Not for Georg and not for the person viewing or wearing the piece. It can be whatever you want. The objects shown here are the product of the last three years. Nature plays an important part in the silver- and gold-cast branches and foliage, with cabochon or faceted stones to represent the brilliant fruit. These jewels - most are brooches and necklaces - are of an almost salacious beauty.

The theme of nature continues in the brooches formed with small rectangular plates: these amethyst plates contain inserts, structure and subtleties of colour, while the arrangement in geometrical compositions creates fascinating contrasts. No surprise, therefore, that this collection earned Georg Dobler, a leading figure in the international world of jewellery for twenty years, the 2000 Herbert-Hoffmann-Preis.
